    Hi,

Just want to know your thoughts on which is better in generating good traffic long term and short term?

Blog I think is for Long terms traffic as you build your web identity, trust and followers through the contents you write.

Paid Traffic is for short term as this will give you tons of traffic for a specific period or campaign time.

    Your thoughts?

For blogs to take off, it usually takes at least 3 months for Google to index and rank.

Yes, I do think it depends on your campaign's timeline or the urgency of your campaign.

Paid Traffic is like BUYING traffic from other sources.

BLOG is SELLING it to customers to visit your site. These are organic visits that will more likely give you more followers in the future.

Paid traffic will give you traffic that you need for the meantime but not "followers" where you can benefit in the future.

If you are aiming for long term, Blogging will be better. But if you are into a specific campaign with specific timeline, go with Paid Traffic.

It's really not a question of one versus the other. Like you said Blog is long-term, and ads are short-term.

When you're starting out, I suggest setting up a blog AND advertising at the same time. The ads will help you get traffic right away but the blog will take time to start drawing traffic. Don't forget to start collecting e-mail subscribers. Run the ads till your blog picks up, then stop advertising and focus on content marketing. By this time you should have a decent subscriber list, which is effectively a ready audience.

You can get cheap ads on Facebook and post your blog topics to your FB page. Google ads will help you get traffic with purchase intent but is costlier, especially if you have highly competitive keywords. Use Google ads to make sales, and use Fb ads to grow your brand and create a long-term asset.

Blog Traffic is from SEO, nothing better then your blog ranked under high traffic keyword. Paid traffic should be like an add-on to funnel more targeted visitors to your site. It can capture people you cannot from blogging alone. They are as one.

Blog for sure if you market it. Paid traffic stops coming as soon as you stop paying.

Build your blog, send paid traffic to your squeeze page to get them on your list, then send email to your list when you post a new blog post or a weekly update of your blog posts along with other offers and you have the best of both worlds

Sort term paid traffic for sure, keep adding quality content to your blog and google will like you for that and traffic will start flowing over time but still paid traffic long term is great. Both are good for long term traffic and would advise to use both its better to have a few traffic sources than just the one.
