I can almost see how some will now be coming up with these lengthy, full of brouhaha posts just to beat the slider.

    We shall see.

The system can detect that actually and already would score the quality of posts as poor where people are rambling. :)

You know, it's funny. At first, I set the slider high, then lower, then lower. I realized that I did not want to possibly miss an interesting post and would rather just skim through all posts (as before the slider.) However, I think that it will be valuable to me in one area that I have not been willing to tread previously: old, long threads with scores or even hundreds of posts. I might set the slider higher there to be able to wade through the valuable posts more quickly.

I am still a bit confused as to why so many choices. For instance, what is the difference between 50 and 60? Or 100 and 110? Etc.

Maybe having distinct labels or descriptions will simplify the job and benefit the users? Something like: poor, better, good, great, excellent

Just wondering with one month under the belt with the new tool: how is it working for you?

I am not really using it (set it to lowest threshold to view all posts) but I am wondering if others are and how it is working out for those that do?

I have done the same as you because I'm finding that it is indeed hiding an awful lot of posts. And not necessarily posts that are low quality either, just posts that are short for example. I know the algorithm might not have enough to go on to provide a good score for a short post, but it doesn't necessarily mean that post should automatically be considered low quality and thus hidden.

Strange! I started a thread regards to forum feedback and the first post obviously is very detailed, the rest i can understand is not that good! but what makes me surprise is the tool picked reply of "very nice" to be better than even my first main thread?
