What sort of fees are you specifically referring to? There's not many alternatives that are going to have less fees. Most of the costs have a floor that is controlled by Visa and Mastercard so realistically no matter where you go, there will be similar fees.

Yeah, Skrill is a good alternative to Paypal.
I would rather use it if Paypal didn't exist.
However, if you are looking for more options, this list provides more alternatives that you can choose from.
It has a comparison of features, pricing, etc.

    Hope it helps.

It depends on how much you process per month. If you're doing $1k/mn or less, then you should stick with a third-party processor (e.g. Paypal, Skrill, Wepay, 2Checkout, Stripe), but if you're processing more than $1k/mn, then I suggest you look into a traditional merchant account.

For the third-party processor, I would suggest WePay or Stripe.
For the traditional merchant account, I would suggest Dharma Merchant Services.

Stripe, it's really easy to implement and has great developer documentation, alternatively i would go for braintree, they do pretty much the same thing but I didnt really like their documentation.

If you want to pay less fee by Paypal, you can change your Paypal account to Commerce.
The fee will be lesser .
