Google+: Does it help in Organic rankings?

What's your take on the latest inclusion in the hub of 100s of social networks out there. Does having a Google+ business page or profile help in getting higher rankings?

I know it has an effect on personalized search results but is there any effect in organic rankings too?

 

A few tests says that yes, that G+ is somewhat useful for SEO.
Notwithstanding, I would wait to see more case studies to think it is certainly true.

 

Google+ does help you in some way, it's organic backlink which helps you to rank higher because the more backlinks you get the higher your website gets so it does help you somewhat if you have a website as your homepage on your Google profile and then make wall posts of each articles you made if you are a blogger.

 

I tend to look at SEO and SMM as 2 different things. But if Google+ helps me with SEO and site rankings, it's a nice added benefit.

I agree completely. While G+ helps with SEO it’s main purpose is far beyond page rankings.

 

Google+ is a product of Google. So, its natural that it will somehow impact your SEO works and help you to sustain organic traffic.

I've seen more and more studies coming out that correlate G+ activity with higher Google rankings. But...just because there's a correlation, doesn't mean that it's the root cause.

However, I personally think it'd be silly to ignore G+ as a marketing or SEO platform, simply because even if it doesn't effect organic rankings today, it's a pretty safe assumption to assume it will sometime in the future. Why wouldn't Google use their own social network to influence their own search engine? Seems like a no-brainer

 

Yes, with no second thought Google+ helps in organic results for your website or blog. But, the fact that just posting comments will result in your favor is just your wrong perception. You have to post something unique and what others would like. Also, engaging with your circle members for a post will bring you more organic results. The more peoples like,comment or share your story the more better rankings you can get.
