    I am having a really hard time saving gif images from photoshop and having it on my site. It becomes horribly pixelated. Any idea on how to improve and maintain the quality.

    Also I tried saving it in .png and it only works in other browsers besides IE, so anyway to save a .png so that it may work with I.E?

    make sure that the original format has enough quality in it... e.g. if you save it from a 24-bit bmp into a gif, the results should be fine... but if you're saving from a lower quality image, the results could be pixelated like what you mention... ;)

    Do you need the image to be saved with an transparent background? If not, uncheck "transparency" and you should be fine with ie and png. With the gif, experiment with the number of colors when saving. It sounds like too few colors are being selected.

    why not to save them as optimized jpg images? they can be just as gif's in size, just save it as jpg, open in ImageReady and optimize, u can then se the quality and size depending on ur settings

    Yeah and it comes out pretty bad for complicated images. And the edges are also cropped and very pixelated.

    What format is the originally image in (go to image, mode). Try converting it to rgb if you are adjusting the size of the image, and then save it as a gif.

    The moment I try to save it by deleting the background layer it, becomes pix elated. It looks good when I save it with the layers but the moment I want the image to be transparent it does not comply with what I want.

    Go save>save for web> then gif and put the colors on max.
    This is if you want no backround and a gif image.

    Save as opimaised if its animated.

    Go save>save for web> then save as jpeg it reduces the size of file and keeps the same quality the best litle trick of photoshop
