Looking at the end of the trunk the woman is carrying its looking a little rotted and porous, where as the one the soldiers are carrying looks pretty solid. Also the soldiers are probably running with a trunk we cant see the end off, could be 30ft long :p

If you really want to have an accurate comparison of the situation, here is the picture that should be used next to the Russian lady because below is what those U.S. soldiers will be going home to, for the most part. The Russians can have their log hauling babe:

It's great picture, we can learn to see that if you think that you can do then everything can be possible.

Well, anyone who has a clue about what the picture of the soldiers is about, would understand how silly this thread is (though the picture is funny, of course.) During boot camp for many of the military services, there is a special period called Hell Week in which these soldiers-to-be are purposely pushed to the limits of human exertion to cull out the weaker soldiers who cannot cut it in the most powerful military organization in the world. The log exercise typically comes after a full day of running and other strenuous activities and the soldiers-to-be are then ordered to hold up a very heavy log for as long as they can without resting it on their shoulders. After a while, it is a very painful thing to do and that is when the picture was snapped.

Drawing any conclusions about the power or strength of the average U.S. soldier from this picture reflects more on the hopes and resentment of the posters than anything else.

When you work together in a same task the burden will be shared (The power of unity)

When you able to do it alone, there is no need to take someone's help.

Now, let me tell you why this is unfair.

To start off my statement, I am American and have nothing against America or Russia. I find both of them very thriving countries with opportunity and potential. What you're doing here is comparing the best to the worst. Surely there are lazier, more obese Americans and also stronger, more fit Russians. To get an accurate conclusion, we must take the averages of each country and find an estimate to which country is stronger. For the sake of time, we'll use basic variables to determine our outcome. Some of the formulas may be estimated and seen to work, but not entirely true. It will work for our study, however.

Obesity is a main factor. As of May 2014, there has been multiple studies to uncover the rates and causes of obesity country-wide. It is estimated that 32.8% of Americans (Nearly a third) suffer from obesity. This is 31.7% men, 33.9% women, and 25.8% children. However, 27.2% of Russians have estimated to suffer from obesity, or at least fit the obesity standards set on the various studies. Both have the same standards and estimation methods, something very hard to find study-wide. As a result, we could not find a woman/man/child estimate like America, but that won't matter for the most part.

Next, let's look at the average height. It doesn't seem like it'd matter as much, but it does if we want to determine physical ability, considering that there's no legitamite way to study strength (It's seen as mostly opinion, and can vary among weight, height, age, etc). We can safely assume that there are roughly 50% men and 50% women, by a variation of only a few percent. With this, the average height for Americans is 5' 6.50" (169cm) and for Russians, this number is slightly larger (5' 6.92", 170cm).

The standardized healthy weight for both heights (America and Russia) is 132.5lb (60.1kg) and 134.5lb (61.0kg) respectively. This means that even though more Americans suffer from obesity, their standard weight is often slightly less than that of Russians. This is what determines strength, because even though they weigh less, a healthy weight is a healthy weight, and if your healthy weight is slightly heavier and you meet it, it doesn't make you any less healthy. It often makes you stronger, making Russians less obese by population and (no offense to either country) possibly slightly stronger. This doesn't matter as much, because both countries stand side by side to eachother and are very close in both weight, obesity and height. This is why I don't judge people by their race, religion, sexual preference, skin, gender, clothing choice, appearance, deformities and desease, because it really doesn't matter. We're people, strong, weak, fat, skinny, we're all people. We should not be labeled by false prejudices and never unfairly compared.
