Google Officially Launch Panda 4.0

Hi guys! I would like to share you with this interesting announcement by Google Mat Cutts on Twitter and they have released the Google Panda Algorithm version 4.0 and this is specially designed to target websites with scrap content and preventing them to top results of Google's search. This is the major update compared to data refresh and this means they have updates on how the Panda determine the websites and launched the latest version of the algorithm.

Scraping content is so lazy. You should always write your own. Sites scraping content shouldn't rank well in my opinion. Lets see how well Panda 4.0 does in addressing this. Hopefully we'll all be seeing less of these in our search results. :)

This update is required truly, because blackhat sites are increasing day by day, The end user/ the viewer is not getting the actual fruit of the unique article now a days, All should know that if you will do all the things by following google guidelines it will be beneficial for you, google and end users as well.

Lets say you do things by googles guidelines then someone Neg SEO's your site. Then you get deranked due to shady backlinks. What do you do then? In my opinion the only way to maintain a ranking with google is to pay for google adwords. Then you never need to worry about backlinks or if someone has it out for your site.

I don't use the forum so often, but if anybody can tell.... so far my websites didn't feel negative consequences from Panda or any update and traffic was increasing, it is first time all of them lost 40% of traffic in last two days.. does it mean, if this is Panda effect, it remains so, or it can change, for better of course, does what happens first day remain so or iti is just fluctuating for some time... so far I had slight fluctuating in some sites, they would go down, and up, but this seems to be drastic.... Hope one can advise...

It MIGHT be a new Panda effect. Lots depends on the quality of your content, and dozen's other factors. Many of those who've been hit concentrated on building new HQ backlinks hoping it'll help.

I am wondering if this also means Pagerank update? My website has been a PR1 for a while and I am expecting it to go PR2 since I have improved drastically, or I would be more pleased with getting PR3-PR4.

Long term overdue, mate. I hope it keeps going up.

A side note, one of my site's Google traffic has gone up and it wasn't hit by Panda. Double since Panda 4.0.

    My status is:
    - no increase/decrease since Panda 4.0 (not higher than 5% at least that is normal day to day variance)
    - also in the past no Panda penalty
    - page rank = 4 (not changed)

Hope you guys are fine after the update, quality content rules :)

    Best!

We're seeing increases across our own sites and those we provide unique content. This seems to be a reinforcement of the original Panda, focusing efforts on real spammy content and increasing the relevance of unique pages.
