Hi, We are thinking about starting an affiliate program for digital products we create ourselves so we are left with more time to design (what we like) instead of marketing. The products range from $20 to $75 bucks, my question for the community, what would be good affiliate payout rates?
It pretty much depends on the niche, your products and efforts put into it and how hard it to sell it. Typical commissions can range between 30% to 50% to be paid for the affiliate partners.
higher rates not always give better results,, but with higher rates, your product will on the spotlight, and make affiliates interest to take a look your product,, for digital products, rates is around 50%-75% , i think its good,,,
A scaled fee will give the publishers motivation to sell more goods and better ad placements. 0-5 sales 20%, 5-10 sales 30% etc. Give a max of 75% and advertise the highest fee to your publisher. Up to 75% commission blah blah....

It's hard to say. Some programs payout huge per sale but never convert. Others offer smaller amounts but have high conversions. Better to track the EPC (earnings per click).
High fixed percent will be easy for the affiliates to understand what will they get as a result of hard work. It is a good idea to check out what competitors offer and then make the offer which will be attractive.

If you are going for a new network, then you should be "attractive", by that I mean provide something that make you stand out from the competitors. For digital products a minimum of 50% would be a good choice, but you can also make it flexible.
