See if you qualify for the student or academic version of CC. My son is on a creative media degree so we qualify (the adobe rep suggested it). It's better than cs5 and cheaper than upgrading. As for its worth nothing comes close to it functionality.

Really really pricey, but it's a great tool if you know what you're doing. If you are doing graphic work and need a decent program for it, I would recommend it, even with its price tag. As someone said, try the monthly plan for a while and decide. Or the trial. 30 days should be enough to play with it and see if it's worth the money. There are open source alternatives and, if you like them, you can use them. Was never able to 'love' GIMP, so I had to use Photoshop. Since my job is to do graphic/web design work, it was just another investment in my business.

Before spending your money on Photoshop why don't you try "Gimp" with almost same tools but, easy to access. I've tried it & love it.

GIMP user here. Just like PS, it will take some time to learn. There are lot of tutorials and resources available as well. PS is a bit highly priced if you are not going to earn from it.

Photoshop is worth its price in all aspects. One has to be proficient with the software to use it. If you are a newbie.. try geting your hands on the 30 day demo of P CS6 and use it. If you like it. Go for the real deal.

Depends if you are using it for graphics or you are a photographer and want to edit your photos. Just in case you are photographer i suggest you to use Lr, because photoshop is more for graphic purposes. But in any case you have 30 days of trial, so just try it and see if it worth or not.

Photoshop is worth it's price only if you are really gonna use it. I'm still sticking with a good old licensed Ps 7.0, but a friend of of mine has downloaded pirate Photoshop CS6 and is happy with it.
If you take time studying it, it's a great software and you can use it for almost anything graphics related

Ow absolutely. The whole Adobe Creative suite is worth the money. Of course it's expensive but if you're a graphic designer and looking for a job you totally need the program.

You can get away with using gimp but I like using Photoshop because you can find a lot of tutorials for it online.

Photo Shop is an awesome tool yes that is true! But I never pay premiums for my stuff! I have a close friend who works in adobe who looks after me. I pay for it yes but at a good price.

If you are going to be using it, I see no reason why you wouldn't go with photoshop. The program pays for itself.
