index pages have been disappearing from SERPs

    Hi there,

Has anyone else noticed their index pages disappearing from google over the past month?

For example the index page for our website www.connect-communications.co.uk used to show up pretty high for the term "telephone answering service" but now it's way down on the 10th or 11th page and it's a fairly obscure blog category page from the site that is showing up on the SERP.

I can't see us having been penalized and the index page is still indexed fairly regularly by google, any ideas?

it looks like you chose a fairly competitive keyword to rank for. Not to mention, every result is for a site that looks no different from the next. There's a good chance google is hammering down on those sites. I'm amazed. I'm 5 pages deep and every site looks ~exactly the same, w/ the same basic content...

nice looking site compared to the others tho...

I think it is fairly simple:
(and I dont have to look at your site, because I am losing indexing also)

1: Your site is not of high quality.
2: and/or You have duplicate content of no interest to google.
3: and/or You are using Bad SEO techniques.....

Google is not here to help you with with your own personal gains.
They are here for high quality content (which is useful) and anything
less, then you are nothing more then a hinderence to google.
When you serve up poor/quality site, then you just get in the
way of what google wants to do, get better. You are certainly rewarded
more when you have something useful to offer, and less if you dont.
