    Hi,

Just want to know your thoughts on when is the best time (hours and day) to send email?

Some research says the best time is 7-10pm and the best day is Thursday?

    Your thoughts?

What if you're target audience is Worldwide? Do you have to keep track on each of their time zones? :)

Hmm, that's right! If not, why even care? It would be convenient to divide your mail database into a few regions(4-6 would probably be enough) and send mails to each region with appropriate delay. I'm sure there is a software which can automate that ;)

I generally don't think people are that responsive over the weekends.

On Friday at around 4pm... Just kidding! Never send a resume on Friday around 4 pm if you're applying for a job.

What types of people are you trying to reach?

From my experience, internet marketers are active from Monday to Wednesday, then Saturday and Sunday. Monday morning is never active, though. It begins Monday night.

I don't think there is a definite time for this..what if you are targeting worldwide? I guess following their time zones will help you a lot. However, most people read their emails either in the morning or late at night..

Thursday evening according to the time zone would be best as people have longer time to check emails at weekends and also send 3 days before the month-end with plans about coming months and specials if you have some great ideas or planned events for the next coming weeks.

And use Can-SPAM compliance services like Mailchimp etc for not harming your website in whole.

They usually say between 3 and 5 pm. However, I think perhaps lunch hour emails might work for reaching people that work typical day jobs.

    Thanks for the link
Just one observation, not sure if it true
If every starts sending emails at the same time as described in the link, user might get bombarded with emails

Personally it depends on the type of people your emailing to, For my lists i find that the best time to hit them is between 6.30am to 2pm then between 4.30 and 6pm.

Sundays also seem to work well too, as people seem to spend more time on their computers/tablets on this day.

The best time for me to send emails is 3am. It means that this is first thing they see when they wake up.

A couple of years ago, I recall a big marketing agency coming out with the best times in the U.S. to send out B2B emails and their suggestion was Tuesday - Thursday in the afternoons. Of course, a lot of B2B marketers started doing just that and I believe that many still do. That probably has caused a glut of emails on those days/times and made such timing ineffective. It is similar to when a noted stock broker mentions a hot, "little known stock" to invest in and then everybody pumps up the price by buying it, thereby defeating the idea of finding a small, undervalued stock to invest in.

So, my approach is to avoid the "best" days/times that the "experts" suggest when I send out my emails. I do my own small "studies" and figure out the best times for my specific emails to go out to my specific markets. These times likely have little relevance to most anyone else, except my competitors.

First you need to check the time zone of the country and I think Tuesday and Wednesday morning will be better to send emails, for a lot of people are used to check emails when they are on work.

The afternoon is the best time. Emails is one of the time wasters. But be careful not to miss an important email. To do this, use a specific address for all your important mails, and schedule time early in the morning to check it out. This does not mean going through the mails, but just checking out for an important email.

Right before the start of their work day, right before the end of their work day, or around lunch time. This seems to be when people check their emails most often.
