In 2014, we should we should put more emphasis on content writing and infographics. Contemporary, social media sites like facebook, G+, twitter are the best way to promote your site and get a lot of traffic to your site.

Dont post on blogs and forums with link. Watch out for bad links, be sure to instead get links from high PA and DA that ranks good in google. No sitewide links and no direct linkexchanges.

 

Make usefull and unique content. Get links from trusted sources and only in your niche.
