Most average people doubt online business.

I've been doing this internet marketing for a little over a year now. I'm 16 and my mom says I'm lazy and need to get a job even though I make decent money on the web and there's a lot more potential to make more than if I were to have a job. Anyone have any reasons why people who work jobs hate online business?

 

It's kind of a general statement to say "people who work jobs hate online business."
If anything it's simply the difference in mindset (not everyone is born an entrepreneur).

 

I believe that msot people don't understand how one could make money online, therefore they think we are just sitting on our computer watching funny cat videos all day, when we are actually promoting our offers and products, writing our email newsletter or writing a blog post about an affiliate product.

 

I'm 24 and my parents were exactly the same. My family are all tradesman type (builders, carpenters etc).
They considered anything to do with computers pointless like it was just playing a game console.

Just stick with it and you will get there. Maybe pay your parents rent if you earn enough once they see that it is quite possible to earn online they might let you be.

I'd say most of the time, people just don't understand it.

 

As ChrisBa stated, most people don't understand the art of online business. The average worker is afraid of individuals working online, as they believe it's not fair that they have to physically work when someone can sit at home and make 2-3x as much.

 

That's so true people need to know making an income online is far from easy and money isn't guaranteed like a job.

 

Dont worry im 17 and i had te same issue. Just carry on doing what you are doing now. People have different attetude to computer especially older ones. You must be forward thinking because what you know is that the internet space is a huge industry but its virtual and its hard for older people to understand how you can make money without doing physical work. Its just their thinking and habbits. Welcome to the club dude

Take a few moments to take her to Amazon, Dell, Overstock, Walmart Online, Ebay....Then show your family Etsy, Kickstarter, and any other sites you can think of.

Just say.."This is the future, I am part of it."

 

I try to tell them that but they still doubt, I use it as motivation to keep working harder.

 

Don't worry, it's normal that older people are more sceptical about online business. However, young people sometimes get too excited about that and think that money will be in their wallets after two weeks To be successful in this field you have to work as hard as in "normal" job Keep on trying!

 

Sit your mother down and have a heart to heart with her. She is your mother and her finger pointing is borne out of love and concern for her son.
But explain to her that a job isn't only about the hours you keep or the money you bring in. It also has to do with a calling and a passion and love for what you do.
You are a natural in what you are doing. Putting you in a factory or chaining you to a desk would be akin to taking a fish out of a tank and placing it into a birdcage.
Tell her to give you the benefit of the doubt, and in time you will be able to help her with the rent/mortgage.

 

I was skeptical before I tasted success. Can't blame them because there are plenty of people looking for quick rich methods. The flexibility we get as Internet Marketers makes us look like we're bumming around.

 

I know right but once you actually see some success it feels like the sky is the limit.

 

IKR! In my opinion, Internet Marketing is not just joining affiliate programs and promoting the "get rich" methods. It is also about creating assets (e.g. websites, email lists) for long term sake.

Internet Marketing is just like any other businesses.

 

I hear you, I have been working online for the past 7 years and It's hard to convince people that making money online is a possibility specially when I haven't got the results to show. I have followed many courses in my time and just made a fool out of myself really, but I finally decided to get a mentor which I would follow and have to say it has been the turning point. If you are serious about making money online get someone you can follow and listen to what they have to say. I did and now I'm documenting my step by step on how I will finally create a online passive income. I guess when that happens it should be kinda easy to get others on board
