I have home HD videos and I'm using iMovie to edit and combine it but I'm unhappy with the file size. I want to achieve HD videos with small file size. Some tips online are not giving me the same quality as the original. Can you help me? Some 720 HD movies is around 800MB which is about 2 hours long. But my videos are only 20 minutes but its size is 1GB! Should I try premiere pro, final cut, etc? Thanks in advance!
To compress video, you need codec, not just video editing software. Best quality with smaller file size can be achieved with xvid or divx codec.
I use iMovie for everything. If you play around with the formats, you can find one that will give you a satisfying output-size. The thing about iMovie is that its default export option isn't that amazing. Also, since you're on a mac, if you have the cash, get Final Cut. Get that, and you'll never have to worry about any questions "editing" ever again.
i use adobe aftereffect for editing and composting..u should also try this.. and if u dont have this, then go to google or download any video converter..and then convert ur video..i think this may help u
I don't about Mac, but you want to convert HD or 720p Video can try FormatFactory having good collection of formats in free
Don't use all this crap. Use a software "Handbrake" to compress the video. I compressed a 250mb video to 60mb without loosing any quality. You can google it for more evidence. I am sure this is the program you were looking for. Enjoy!!
