Did you receive a penalty? What kind of links do you have pointed to your website?

Was it a new webpage/site? In most cases something new is given initially a boost in SERPs, when CTR and other web usage stats drop, so do rankings. That means you simply did not satisfy user intent. Other factors, such as back links and what not help too of course.

To stay on the 1st page, you need to do major SEO work such as back linking on high ranking sites. (Back linking on low ranking sites can hurt your website due to it being spammy) Also keep producing high quality articles with long tail keywords. This can bring in a higher range of audience as they may search for a term related to your site. Keep doing this and you'll stay on the first page of Google guaranteed.

Well, i would say this might be because of your competitors have something more good to show, then you have remaining on the first page in Google is just like connecting to the right source at the right time and you will be on top. I would say in order to get back where you are look on the work you are doing previously add some more refreshed content to you site etc.... have a look on the links.

Are you using blackhat methods? Black hat is a temporary method. Use whitehat and research your competitor. I hope again you 1st page ASAP.

Checklist of things you need to do stay on page 1:
    1. Update your content. People will argue about just how fresh your site needs to be. In my experience, it only takes 1-2 new pages per month to satisfy Google.
    2. Get a social presence. Get Facebook, Google+ and Twitter accounts and link them up to your money site. Buy some followers from Fiverr and make social signals that coincide with the release of new content.
    3. Keep building backlinks. You can build 10-20 new crappy backlinks per week (comments, forum signatures, article directories) or 1 high PR/PA/DA per two weeks if its coming from a relevant site in your niche. See @EpicAffiliateGuy 's post.
    That's it.
