How To Build Your New Website and Rank in 2014 - the safe method

GET A DOMAIN

1. Find an expired domain with branded links going to it.
2. The domain name should be short and generic so you can apply it to any niche e.g. vertteks.com (made it up).
3. The domain must be a former company domain that didn't have SEO done to it.
4. The domain must have juice PR links pointing to it from other trusted websites, the type of links you cannot get with SEO.
5. Majority of links should be brand links e.g. vertteks.com, vertteks company, vertteks ceo, etc

BUILD YOUR CONTENT

For meta don't use exact keyword phrase in title and desription. Vary with synonims, stopwords and adjectives.

1. Install WP with link juice keeper plugin to keep all the juice going to dead URLs
2. Silo your site out with making one page the main page for the main keyword:
vertteks.com/online-dating-for-women
3. Do interlinking on your website in a way so that link juice will always flow to your main page (either directly or through other pages)
4. Put multimedia on your site and link to authority sites - Wikipedia, About.com

Here you should see your page already ranking if you did your KW research correctly

OFF-PAGE SEO

1. Find a small niche relevant blog network or build your own and link to your site with varied anchortext sending links to random pages (link juice will end up on vertteks.com/online-dating-for-women anyway if you did internal linking correctly)
2. Never repeat your anchortext more than 1 out of 20 times. Use variations like: online dating for mature women, dating older women online. Throw in synonyms and adjectives.
3. Link slow. 1-3 links every couple of days.

Posting to many links at once is never good. Because if you stop the difference is significant. But if you post a couple every now and then and then stop posting, it's not a big issue.

This is not a theory. This method works for me and multiple other people.

All in all, this works period and it works now. Go do it!

It is easier said than done to get an expired domain with "trusted links" to it. Why would somebody let those expire?

Nice list of tips you have come up with. But, just think did anyone who is getting enough backlinks from a high PR sites or authority sites will let the site goes down without taking any proper care of it?

It's very rare to get a website as you listed. Need lot more effort to be put in to get the job done for a safer website.

 

It is actually not that diff at all.

There are plenty of websites with lower MOZ Domain Authority metric that are overlooked.

Since we don't need sites with a lot of links and a perfect profile...

Many sites will have lower DA, less than a 100 nice branded links, some of them PR.

You need to look for high Majestic Trust Flow factor as this usually indicates quality links.

So couple of dozen branded links should be enough to get you started. If you couple that with the domain age- you're off to the races.

Don't really need 1000s of links these days to rank. Just good onpage SEO and quality links!

It is beneficial to buy old domain name, which have some good PR value for you new site. Old domain always have some weightage over new domain. Other then this, if you want to rank higher in SERP, then make natural backlinks from your niche sites. It will be better to have backlinks from broadbase domains.

Nothing cutting edge but definitely a nice primer for those that are on the wrong track from the misinformation all over the internet about "how to do SEO". I don't really see a method here. Seems more like "use an aged domain and play it safe".
