    Hi,

We have seen people replying to some very old thread. At times their reply add value, but most of the time no value. Even at times, one replies to old thread without realizing that its an old thread.

I want to make a small suggestion, is it possible to start giving old thread warning to viewer before they bump/reply the old thread.

It may be something like this:

There is a VB hack and could be found here :

Maybe this is something that DP could implement?

If theres a hack already it would be fine to implement - so that - the infractions given to people bumping old threads maybe prevented to some extent.

On the other hand its assumed that users do check the date of the thread/posts before they decide to leave their feedback..

All in all a Nice suggestion NEOGEN

lol, we all seem to be using the same avatar.

This has been asked for tons of times, but it seems to fall on deaf ears... and meanwhile, old threads continue to get bumped by people posting stupid stuff like "wow, I didn't know that, thanks".

I think that is a very nice suggestion which should not fell on deaf ears :D:D Anyway by what i have seen 70% of the people bump thread purposely and rest 30% are n00bs probably first time on some kind of forum. If you notice you will see old threads have pretty good PR like in range of 1-3 so people post and bump it to get PR weight for their sig and stuff(That is the only reason i could come up with about bumps) Those people are smart but kinda stupid. Rest 30% dont know rules and that suggestion will help them and it might halt them for other big part it wont matter anyway. Its just a time wasting study i did and thats what i could come up with hope that helps anyone make a decision or make any other suggestion. Anyway its a nice suggestion :)

    Great Suggestion.
But I doubt it will help because if people actually look carefully, at the side of each thread, it already mentions that the thread is soo many days old.

Since this one is just below the reply box, it might make them help. :)
But the words there must be clear and not confuse anyone, and because there are some threads that is active way up all the time since its been started and thats not bumping if its active. Bumping is something like posts were made much before and now suddenly after months bumped.

like this one for instance. granted, it's 'only' 11 months old since the last reply but it still doens't add any value to the thread. and then beyond that everyone basically rephrased what everyone before that said.
