How back links to blog help homepage ranking?

Everybody says create good quality content and promote it to get better rankings and traffic. We create a blog inside our domain and provide good quality and interesting unique content. Now we promote the blog url through social bookmarks,forum signatures, article submission etc. And thus gains some keyword back anchor text back links to the blog url. Will back links and traffic to blog help to rank the home page better?

 

Yes, of course it will help you eventually. But you may not get an instant boost-up in Page Ranking but it will gradually uplift you Page Rank. Thanks.

 

Creating quality content and submitting it to high PR backlink sites helps. Also don't forget to add contextual links in your blog post which will help to improve the keyword ranking and the traffic as well.

 

I am agreed with Rahul Pandit. Contextual links really helps to improve your ranking in search engine as well traffic.

 

Of course page rank increase be sure it have quality content and quality back links.

I mean we get traffic to blog page only, we are getting back links to the url of blog only, will this help the homepage url or not?

 

I would say backlinks for homepage would surely help homepage to rank better in SERP. Though it would be a long process as good backlinks would improve the domain authority; also backlinks would bring Google PR to attract users so that users would like to spend time on your blog. And if users are liking your blog then it would get better rankings in search engine.

But don't forget Content is still king.
