Guest blogging is not completely dead... Matt cutts only says in his blog, "If you are seen guest posting as a link building SEO technique then you need to stop it." Most of the white hat SEO techniques are good but if its done as a proper way.

I agree too. Right from link building to guest blogging, all these activities are worth provided you do them in an ethical way.

For me Guest blogging was a good way to boost your SERP... Now we should concentrate on Social Bookmarking sites, Social Media, Video marketing, Forum and Directory submission, sometimes blog commenting, etc. :)

    SEO is dead!
    Link building is dead!
and now guest blogging is dead?!
I don't think so. We all know how to use these methods in a proper way to reach your targeted visitors and convert leads. There are some people abusing these strategies just to manipulate the rankings and gain popularity in short period of time, which will trigger a red flag from Google.

I don't think guest blogging is dead at all. I think what google is really doing is placing a heavy focus on relevancy. They're trying to get rid of people who guest post on blogs that have nothing or little to do with their own sites subject. It's the same with back links for web designers. Where you used to want to put your link on everything you created, you now make sure to put a no follow link if the site created isn't somehow related to design or development. Just heavily focusing on relevancy.

Nothing is dead. the only ways to do these things have changed. Now, the blogger have to be more sharper and they should strictly follow all the guidelines before using any techniques. when you are making any kind of backlink to your site, you objective is not to make your links appear natural, but the objective should be that your link should be natural.

A good way to promote your site or brand and get backlinks is to find experts in your niche.
A good tool that helps you find such experts (influencers) is t3engage.com. According to your keywords it gives you a list of influencers. Try it, it is free of charge.

Since Google+ is weighted as one of the next big things, I think we'll see huge increases of spam on that platform.

The next thing Google will target are those link building methods that they've crowdsourced using the disavow tool.

Google crowdsourced all the major link and article directories and penalized sites that used those methods primarily in their link building methods. I'd venture to guess that web 2.0 sites are next, starting with the smaller sites.

Guest blogging is definitely not dead. What Matt Cutts talked about in his video was about "guest blogging for links". Sure, that's dead and I'm happy that it is dead, finally. But if you have good knowledge about your market and you share that knowledge through your guest posts without worrying about stupid things like keyword density or anchor text of your links; and also if you're submitting one quality guest post to only one relevant site, then you have nothing to worry about.
