I am looking at buying some domains for a client and some are available. I don't know which might be better so I'm asking for opinions. He does work which is semi professional and he has to be licensed by the state. So people will look up based upon the work he does and the state like this in indiana and north carolina: nc contractor - and you could have domain variations like this: nccontractor or contractornc nccontractors or contractorsnc iacontractor or contractoria I think that it's easier to see where the abbreviation is after but the way you say it makes sense with the state before it like indiana contractors. But I don't know what will perform better. I figured I would ask opinions.
Mostly this just depends on what is most likely to get used by the end user/surfer. So for example it might be quite reasonable to assume peeps will use NC for North Carolina but people are very unlikely to use I in place of Indiana. Do you get what I am hinting at? It's a case of the "numbers game" and the likelihood abbreviations will be used in place of words. Where it makes sense, people will do so but where it is not common peeps won't do so as it really won't make sense. Indiana is a good example. icontractors or contractorsi could mean any number of things so it's better to use the word and not the abbreviation yet for the same token NYcontrtactors is clearly about NY EG New York so NYcontractors would make total sense as would contractorsNY It is all down to what makes sense and what doesn't...
Very good point. It will take some research as I've seen some states are more prone to abbreviation than others, even with one word, e.g. Arizona. States like Ohio probably never use the abbreviation. I'm curious whether you or anyone else has a thought on a preference of before or after the keyword/term. When you capitalize like you have, that makes sense. But without doing so, both work but I'm wondering whether the second works better. Thanks for sharing your opinion.
make a keyword research to know which one has the max. search volume. then choose it. Because it's the one that will perform best.
