Multiple WP sites and domains on one hosting plan?

    Hello,

    I have a shared hosting account with HostGator. I wonder if I can have multiple WP sites there, something like this:

    FTP: www/mysite1 (WP folder); URL: www.mysite1.com
    FTP: www/mysite2 (WP folder); URL: www.mysite2.com

    I'd like to buy the domains from NameCheap as they have it much cheaper than HostGator. Would that work?

    yes,

    in cpanel , go to addon domains, add domain and you will be able to add wordpress site there.

    Thanks for answering. Can I also add a domain after installing WP first in a folder? I'd like to set up 3 sites (all in their own folders) and add domains when they are finished. I would leave the root of the server intact.

    yes, however, judging by your question, i dont' think you are experienced enough to actually be able to move wordpress to another domain ( it needs database editing)
    so its better that you add domain, then install wordpress on it.
