Honestly, I did try with article writing as well, but it didn't really worked out well for me What I did though, quite recently, and I already got about 10 sales is - build a nice blog (on a popular niche), and in one of my pages, I created a chain menu - that is to say - hundreds of categories, and then they hit "find" and 4-6 eBooks come up based on the selection - ofcouse all from clickbank. In other words, I made it very easy for people to choose from a variety of topics. The encouraging part with clickbank is that the commissions are quite large - plus the landing pages done by the sellers, are usually quite convincing - especially those done by doctors, business specialists, etc., as it adds a lot of value to the product. Your theory and optimistic figures sound good, but I think the truth is far below those figures (don't feel offended, please)...
Picking your niche and the way your product is actually built up (PDF/video or other format, the attractiveness and readability itself) is also a factor.

So, did you hit the 1,000 USD/month figure?

 

Article Marketing was doing well way back in 2007-11, however, they not working now. Not only you need to submit lots of articles to earn trivial sum or money, few article directories gone paid and not accepting free articles. Even EZA, not accepting more articles on one subject and decline articles as those don't provide any new valuable info to readers.

Google is frown upon articles and does not index articles except for few reputable article directories like EZA, ArticleBase, GoArticles etc, however, those don't generate good traffic that will convert.

ClickBank can be great, if you know how to do it. But they have very high fees and if you don't make any money for a certain period of time, they keep charging you money. Some people pay more ClickBank fees that make money with ClickBank.

2CO or direct PayPal payment systems can be alternatives, but you won't have that huge affiliate base that ClickBank offers.

 

I think this method is just one of the ways you can promote CB products, but you definitely need to focus on more than submitting articles these days. Think content marketing, not just article marketing. Think videos, pictures, stories, reviews, etc.

Right now I am attempting a serious run at promoting CB products and hope to generate a solid income within a month or two. I will use Web 2.0 blogs, YouTube and article marketing to promote products, as article marketing alone isn't enough traffic for my goals.

The strongly negative aspect about ClickBank is that they have heavy "fees" on "dormant accounts", so - if you don't make money, they will make you pay. If you don't make money at all for a long time, I heard they might even close your account down.

Better develop your own system and sell your own products.

 

Clickbank is actually for long term profit, like a real business ... not a "hobby" business to get a sale here and there.

The dormant account rule will not have a minimal effect on someone who knows affiliate marketing well.

 

Everyone here is wrong. You don't need money.Get a web 2.0 free site webs.com for example. Make that a landing page, then promote that to CB. That's it. I can't promise thousands, but last month I got a nice chunk.

As a matter a fact, I know a lot of people who quit ClickBank because of the high fees. Even though, the idea of ClickBank (the way it works and the affiliate base) is a very good idea, it's costly...

Knowing marketing well doesn't ensure success.

I had to quit ClickBank, because I started working on a new project and between the old one and the new one there was a pause of a few months. I would have gladly spend that time working, creating, but ClickBank started taxing me heavily, so I had to quit.

 

Tell us more about how you do it. I've heard similar ideas before, but maybe we can learn from you if you are so very successful.

 

As far as I can tell from what I read and my own personal experience as I have over 159 articles on ezine, article marketing doesn't do what it used to. :-(
