SEO Business still valid?

    Hi to everyone.
I will give you a general question. Don't you think that the vertical portals of sectors such as automobiles, tourism, houses, etc. ... are blighting our work of SEO and Web marketing with regard to the presence in the search engine for par excellence (Google)? Let me explain.

The companies, large or small they are, now to appear at the top of the search engine monopolist, pay large sums to Google, independently from work of optimization, indexing, and SEO that we can do in the industry. Then I speak not of the results of right but those on the left in theory not marketable. All this does not kill our business or however the resize strongly?
Example: a B&B is not asking for me to index and optimize their site because it is aimed directly at the vertical portal, which to be found pays flower of money Google.
    Bye bye.

SEO is maybe one of the business that will NEVER die according to me... People should work hard in order to place their websites in TOP positions to make sales... If you don't work, you won't be in profit... A good alternative to SEO is PAID traffic(PPC)... But it's expensive... SEO is just a FREE (*if you don't pay for SEO of course...) way to boost your SERP! ;)

Agree with Patco. There's always going to be niches that the big dogs don't compete in too. Plus local searches, video SEO, etc.

There's tons of niches still open and will continue to stay open as Google changes algorithms. Everytime there's an update, its like open season. All the amateurs are weeded out.

SEO is Good But don't do that by yourself, don't try to be an SEO expert, it may cause sudden death of your website.

SEO will always exist for as long as search engines drive organic traffic to websites- and as a result, you'll get experts within the field whom can command payment for their optimization services.

For those who are lost in the weeds. SEO has gotten better and will continue for those who actually work hard for it. If you spam crappy links to your money site, you will be taken down within a few months or less. If you work hard and link accordingly, not by Google, but with other strategies taught by SEO specialists who actually know wtf they are talking about then you will rank in Google. LOCAL SEO should be the target nowadays. Why you say? Because the SEO guys in the past have done crappy jobs for these local clients and now they've been hit hard by the updates (Panda, Penguin). The SEO guys can't re rank these local client's website because they don't know any other way to do so. These local clients are devastated at the moment and that's who you should be targeting now for high pays. They have massive money, they just aren't sure who to trust and hire. If you know what you're doing in SEO instead of cramming a gagillion links to websites then you should make a proposal to these local clients. Most of the time you can rank easily for their keywords and they often pay you handsomely.

    SEO will die one day
    - If people will have lots of money to pay for running ads continuously from years to years,
    - To pay for every click - whether valid or not
    - If Google will flood their pages with ads

I do all my SEO myself. Mistakes is how you learn. If you turn your back after a couple mistakes you will never get good at it.

Of course that will be a impossible think..Running a Adwords campaign in Google means hoping every click is from our customers, after clicking they will call us, we are going to get more sales..but nothing happens many times..because our competitors are also there to click for curiosity like "Who is this?"...

Even there are many SEO specialist have misconception about the various topic. Most of people is move towards the PPC.
