What is quality backlink? How is it ranked and what makes it quality?

    I've 2 questions.

When we get a backlink from a high ranking site but no clicks are made to our backlink. Does this again is considered to be a quality backlink by google?

We get a backlink from a site that doesn't have high ranking. But let's assume that this site owner purchase traffic and you get clicks to your link. Does this make it quality? Does google consider it as quality backlink?

In short my question is, is our backlink considered how much clicks it gets to be a quality backlink for search engines? How is it considered?

    Thanks from now:)

Great question that I believe a lot of people could benefit from.

    As of right now...

What determines a quality backlink for ranking:
    • High metrics: Page Rank, Page Authority, Domain Authority
    • Relevance: If the linking page's content is relative to the site you're linking to. And... does it contain links to other authorative sites that are also relevant (wiki, cnn, basically Domain Authority 90+)
    • Clean backlink profile: The linking page doesn't have any spam or keyword over-optimized links going to it.
What determines a quality backlink for traffic:
    • How many people click on the link
As of today, these are mostly mutually exclusive. If you have a link from a poor metric website and tons of people click on it, your rankings are not going to climb unless it happens per chance to help your visitor stats (bounce rate, engagement, etc). If you have a high metric website, unless its also optimized and SEO'd, its not going to get you any traffic.

This is based on testing, not speculation. I have some sites that have a metric ton of traffic just from referrals from bookmarks, social posts, PA 1 web 2.0s. I also have sites than rank page #1 on Google, that are 100% linked from high metric (PR, PA, DA) sites, that get less than 1 visitor per month. And that 1 visitor, definitely isn't clicking over to my money site.

Hope this helps clear things up.

Thanks diggityseo for the answer. Your explanation is well. It has effect to clear things up. I also have searched for answers, then have come across that having a link from a high ranking page will have effect to increase our rank at search results (It's not considered to be on clicks). And having a link from a poor ranking site (but has purchased traffic and we get clicks to our link) can be considered from our side as a quality link not by search engines. And from your answer also this can be understood.

    Thanks.

A quality back link is a link from a high PR web site or blog.
