I have heard Brute force attacks are becoming a problem for people with wordpress sites. How do I prevent them?

The best solution I have found to prevent brute force attacks and several additional exploits is Wordfence

It also can scan your site daily for problems and email you an alert. I keep it set to lock out an IP for 30 days after one failed login attempt.
