It's increasing or decreasing? If you're getting less traffic to your site then that would be the problem it's decreasing. And your users would have to have the alexa toolbar installed.
The main problem is the traffic if it's increasing means you are getting less traffic and if its dropping means now you are getting good amount of traffic in the site !! Now as i am not getting in what terms it is increasing you can figure it out from my answers what you are trying to know !!

You shouldn't worry about alexa ranking.You should be concerned if you see loss in traffic. Try to build new links you will see some improvement.
Alexa rank is dependent on how many people who visit your site have the Alexa toolbar. But then again, a falling Alexa rank is pretty much an estimate that your overall traffic is tanking. I would ask you to check Google Analytics or any other analytics to find out what the exact problem is. Find the pattern first. Then search for the solution.
