Well if everyone is forced to use adwords then google will most likely lose a lot of it's market share since most webmasters will go over to Bing or even Yahoo.

Adwords is just a paid advertising platform and link exchanges don't really work unless they're on high traffic sites. High traffic = More sales right? yes.

SEO will just get more advanced since the search engines need to see who's talking about certain websites. The more "popular" the site, the better it gets ranked.

    What Tommy said.

There will always be organic search results. And there will always be an algorithm used to rank sites organically. It will get harder over time. Right now, the super authoritative sites (Amazon, Wiki, Ebay, MSN, etc) get a free-bee easy rank. The SEO's that succeed are the ones that do a decent job of mimicking the big dogs with authoritative backlinks, social presence, quality content, etc.

Seo is not dead yet, it will not in future also. All time google uses algorithm for listing the sites organically.

SEO won't die - some SEO 'tactics' may die, but SEO will continue for as long as:

    a) People use organic search engines
    b) Companies want to rank in the organic search engines.

Just be sure that your SEO tactics are up to date, that's all!

If you're worried about SEO dying start list building. Email is never going away. But really, neither is SEO. There will always be search engines users will go to which aid them in helping them find the exact content/product/service they are looking for. The only thing that will change over the years in this process is all the junk you have to weed through to get to what you're looking for. IF you analyze this over the years Google has done a pretty good job of weeding out the junk. Search algorithms are using all sorts of signals. Content quality, social signals, linkdin, addresses etc all tell Google the quality of your website or if you're a fly by night website owner trying to cash in on a spammed out thin site. The website owners putting in the time to go for quality instead of quantity will always be ahead. It might be slower process getting there but the works pays off extremely well and will always have an asset to rely on for years to come.

SEO itself will never die. Just like with computer viruses, as soon as google makes an algorithm against link-building, somebody will come up with a new way to cheat the system. People who will be able to do that well, will always be in high regard.

SEO will never die. Because people put a site on the internet and then... nothing.. So how do we get our site found..?

People use search engines to find relevant material paid listings/adwords are not that, they are what they are paid listings. When people can not get past paid listings they will move to another search engine that has real results.

SEO will never die but it would just become harder, there will come a day that you would need a highly established site to get ranked on Google or to pay on Google Adwords to get ranked on search engine.

I guess SEO won't die for as long as Google Ads that are shown on SERP's are still limited to just 3. Sad thing though, because of the new design, more organic search results are pushed down, away from the surfers' view.
