    Hello all SEO guru,

I want to start another wordpress blog and I want to know how important is to start with a unique theme.

Also, how important is to buy a premium theme.

Which version is better for SEO?

If you know someone who make a unique theme, let me know.

    Thank you all

    Hey
All premium Wordpress themes are SEO friendly unlike free themes, a lot of These themes doesn't have the best coding content .. also you can expect from premium themes high quality, mobile responsive, theme updates and support

you can find the best premium Wordpress themes here: themeforest, Theme Fuse,
    Woo themes ...

I always use one of the WordPress.org hosted and developed themes and create a child theme based on one of them. That is in my opinion the best basis for developing a website for any niche.

I install a custom header image it's simple and will set the site apart from the crowd.

I do it with the theme as is or a child theme based on it as they are in my opinion the best basis for developing a website for any niche.
Twenty Ten, Twenty Eleven, Twenty Twelve or Twenty Thirteen. (I'm not impressed with Twenty Fourteen, it might grow on me)

I use custom a page template for each "squeeze" or "sales" page.

I agree with @RobinInTexas. Using a created theme and then modifying it to suit your particular needs is the best option!

Unique theme is like first impression of your visitor over your site, it is one of the major ingredients of making a site popular among the visitors. And if i talk from the search engine point of view then it doesn't matter which theme you have put in because search engine just looks at the code and the content think it like you have two websites using the same the same theme but in one website you have unique content and some low quality theme and on the other website you have some copied content from some other websites and theme is one like wonderful. Now search engine is going to slap the website having cool theme down to no where and the site having ....lol.... theme on the top !! So, from Search engine point of view it is nothing but from user perspective it is everything. Now i guess you might understand that in order to achieve success in ranking you need to have mixture of both.

It isn't important at all unless you're an artist or designer.

    Not very important at all.

To be blunt, most themes suck for SEO, whether the designer says they're "SEO friendly" or not. And to be blunt a second time, the advantages of a truly SEO-friendly theme will be so heavily outweighed by your content that it's really just a "nice to have", IMHO. Sure, it's great to have titles first in meta tags, static meta descriptions, breadcrumbs and all that but really... if your content is awesome, the theme SEO is just icing on the cake.

The ONLY reason to go for a unique theme, in my opinion, is if it matches your site's intent. I use standard free themes across the board and have no troubles with them - with the obvious caveat that I don't pick crappy themes that fill the screen with junk and useless nonsense (like sliders...). I have two sites that use unique themes, both of which I built myself, and the only reason they have one is because there wasn't a commercial/free theme available that did what I wanted. Neither site has suffered a loss of traffic from having a totally amateur (i.e. one built by me) theme installed.

The flip-side of having a unique theme is that a lot of them are rubbish. They try too hard to be different and special, the practical result of which is that users can't navigate, they have horrific bandwidth footprints and they're so full of widgets and whistles that they make your visitors want to stab themselves in the eyes to make it go away.

Ease of use and simplicity first, every time - and if that can be achieved with a free theme, all the better, IMHO.

I recently just started a WP blog myself, and I will probably be getting a custom theme made. Its more for the users rather than the SEO. But, there is a difference though.

Unique theme is not important at all !!!!!!
It is only for good impression for the visitors for those who can't make their own proffessional site!
True - It is SEO Friendly but that's it!

There is no better version or something...

Now, you need to choose your own theme according to your site and it's content.
    * For on-site SEO all you need is UNIQUE Content! Use H1, H2 Etc...
    * Repeat no more than 3-4 % Keywords on the UNIQUE Article, Review etc...
    * Insert Meta Descriptions and Meta Keywords

For that you don't really NEED a unique theme, So if you are spending money on it, just select a theme that you will think will attract visitors... (Always think as a Visitor!)

    Hope it helped ;)

    Good Luck!

Some themes have built in features that positvely affect the SEO but the design simply doesnt affect your SEO.

A part of me thinks that having the exact same SEO techniques might cause a negative effect with Google.
