What cause the sudden alexa rank drop from 500,000 to near 3 Million?

My blog has a sudden alexa rank drop from 500,000 to near 3 Million. I don't understand it why. Can anyone give me a help? Here are some details.

I started my blog at the end of 2010 but was near works with link building or comment or stay active in social media before this year. And I stop blogging for near a year, but my traffic was keep increasing slowly. I guess it's because of its unique content. This year restart to blog again and I post regularly about average once a week, I didn't post any content against copy right and I still didn't try to build any links or become more active in social media. The only thing I could think of doing differently was to join forum and add an alexa tool bar. This week my alexa rank drop from 500,000 to near 3 Million.

I am wondering what may case the sudden rank drop to my site?

I will tell you how alexa works....
It basically sees how many visitors of your blog have alexa toolbar installed.. If there are many visitors with alexa installed then alexa drops rapidally down...

Now, if you have many bloggers as friends, share your blog url on facebook, then observe how fast your alexa drops.... One of my website with this technique got alexa 7000 in India in just a month time....

Alexa is just a myth.....

 

Still, popular websites do seem to have good rankings. I wonder how? And what can be done regarding the same.

 

I don't think it depends upon the alexa toolbar a constant increase in our website can be seen, and guess what we haven't installed alexa toolbar.

Alexa is indeed a waste of time. I have a site in the millions that receives hundreds of times more traffic than another one of my domains that is sub-100k.
It mostly depends on those people with the toolbar installed as that's where Alexa gets its traffic to calculate the alexa ranking.

 

I am also wondering this. I have searched it on internet. and read many articles but got no authentic solution. whats the main strategy of Alexa to give ranking to the website.
