Ok , I have mostly experince selling in amazon and Ebay , I have been selling here and then in a website , I was reading alot about ecommerce and basicly was familiar with most of the terms

Recently i have launched new niche ecommerce site, it's look decent and i have added 400 products which i dont have , but if people buy i will fullfil them, I do have inventory for about 5 items which I want to sell for nice profit margin. I try to list some of items in shopiing comparison websites , the amount of traffic very low i belive the ROI can be even 3-5% but its not enough to sell more than 10 items a month

How come i am not able to generate sales? I have few items that are very hot in thier niche they are popular in Amazon , Ebay some have also few thousands sercheas every month

MY QUESTION IS ABOUT ADWORDS (or other method which can help me sale) USA BASED

for example i have one item which i buy for 79$ and can sell for 179$yed advertising got over 56 clicks one for landing page and one for product page and got no sales

I have another item which did not try yet i can get it for 18$ and sell it for 49$ (which is preety low price same as walmart) i did not try advertising yet.

How come I am not able to make revenue? I also havent had much sucess in the past

Is it true that you need to sell only very expensive items 300$/700$ to run successfull campaigns?

can you advertise in Adwords products that sold for 30$ or 50$ asuuming your product cost is around 1/3 10$ each?)

what is the avergae converation rate?
I calculated that if Conversion are 3-5% and clicks cost around 1.3$ its good ROI, but if its only 1% i assume that making money will be difficult

Can anyone help, advice ? please explain me how to make sales?

I Do have family relative which is succesfull in ecommerce , and basicly he told me that his buisness is based on ADwords for the last 6 years , and that yes , if you have good ROI a website should and can be able to make profit immediatly

You need to select your keywords effectively..
Suppose you have a product "Apple Iphone 5"
If you select keywords such as "Apple iphone 5" "iphone 5" "iphone 5 features" these keywords may have more reach and less bids but people searching these keywords will most probably just check for iphone features or details and return.
Selecting keywords like "buy iphone 5 online" "purchase iphone 5" will get you good conversions.
And also try posting some discount offers if possible.

I think you need to hire someone to look into your adwords campaign, check the landing pages, and other features on your website.
You need to see first what is the curent bounce rate, if people are going on other pages after they visit the website and so on.
Let me know if you need help.

you need to work more on keywords. To have higher conversions you need to focus on long tail keywords that converts better. These keywords have less traffic but then you can expect to have positive ROI.

e.g. instead of "iphone 5 " is better to target "buy iphone 5 online" "iphone 5 free shipping" "buy black iphone 5"

You can increase your business with the help of adapting two online marketing tactics. The one is SEO and the second one is PPC..... As you are an online store. you need a team of specialist and certified people..

Yeah, I'm actually a full qualified adwords prof. I spend $1000's a day and trust me, it's not about focusing your keywords, you still will experience very little conversion.

Unfortunately when it comes to adwords and most other cpc solutions you're going to have to put aside a data collection budget in which you try a variety of keywords to see which may convert. Also you need to refine your campaigns over time, e.g eliminate keywords that bring in traffic that bounces back immediately, if a person views another page it shows they are a little more interested.

Also try using other tools within adwords, like display advertising. The display network is cheap and it will let you target many websites that may contain users interested in your product. If you blow some test budget on this you may discover a website out there that converts well. You can find websites your ads have been displayed on under the "Automatic placements" section on the display network tab. You can still use keywords to focus these advertisements. Most websites use 300x250, 728x90 and 160x600 in that order for popularity, meaning the 300x250 will be the most expensive ad unit due to higher competition.

Finally I would suggest you do some research into demographics that are more likely to buy your product, i'm sure some states will be more interested in that product than others, as well as genders and age groups. Eliminate genders and age groups you think won't convert well in order to reduce the chance of wasted clicks.

    Hope this helps

I manage 1400USD campaign and actually I would suggest you the following steps to improve the campaign:

    1) make a keywords research and include even those you may find ridiculous at first sight

in 2 weeks max check how they convert - eliminate all that give you bounces only. You can check it in Analytics.

while peaking keywords use long tails mostly, as they say with less traffic it may bring more conversion. your tail must include geo markers too (city, state, even street if applicable - if you advertise for one city)

    2) write ads with variety of emotional and imperative words, like buy, check, today, now, send, ask, don't loose a chance, etc.

people act better for you when you give them direct instruction

in ads include keywords and geo markers too

in 2 weeks remove all what was not shown

depending on the amount of ads you can remove low impressions too (like less than 5%)

    3) study your demography in Analytics

from where people come to your site, use it to pick geo markers

what devices are used, if you have much mobile traffic - focus on mobile ads

age of visitors, different ages speak different languages, use it to pick keywords and write ads

time of visits, depending on your product, there is a better time for entertainment and it differs from that for business

    4) set up settings

for your campaign you should set up type of campaign, locations, schedule.

in 2 weeks check effective time and disable ineffective hours

add then re-marketing settings, what to show to people who saw your ads already, for example

set up ads extensions - links to useful information, phone extension

actually settings is essential part, if you have no experience, don't try re-marketing at start, be careful with schedule

    5) pay attention to the landing page.

if it has no clear root for the visitor - what he is expected to do on this page, bounce rate will be high

if it has poor design or content - again bounce

in case you feel like ads and keys are ok, work on the site

good roi is all above 1%, it actually doesn't depend on the product price

I sell $25 items and it works well too

all is about settings and studying analytics, demography mainly

if you may have questions, PM me

Don't target general word like ipad, Target long tail words like cheap ipad in newyork or same day delivery for ipad.
Such specific keywords are needed for successful campaign

This thread was very helpful for me since I can get some tips and information on how to start my first ppc campaign. I am still a bit of weary that my campaign might not be that successful. Establishing a new website and performing the ppc campaign is quite challenging at first. This will lead you for a trial and error to have a successful campaign.

I gonna watch this thread over time so that I can catch some new and great tips from the great advert pipz.

For PPC/Adwords you need to have careful planning behind:

    1) Keyword selection
    2) Ad copy (e.g. are there ways to entice to buy - discount/offer)
    3) Landing pages (presumably for you these are product specific)
    4) On-site factors such as shipping prices/overall look feel of the website
    5) Bidding - being 1st isn't always the most lucrative, consider lower CPC's

    Hope this helps

I would suggest that no sales after 56 clicks is not all that bad. If you have conversion rate of 2.5% it would take 40 clicks to get a sale. 2.5% is a very good conversion rate and something that will take time to build up to. It make be worth looking at ROI at this time, ie. how much you need to make for each $1 spent.

    That is all great advices.
    To resume,
you should make really good landing page that is relevant to you ad (with that you get good quality score and pay less for your targeted keywords)..
After that you should establish conversion tracking.
And after all edit your campaigns and keywords to perform better.
You should use mobile and retargeting campaigns after some time.
