I was wondering why people want to get thousands of followers on twitter?

 

People who are wanting to get thousands of followers on twitter, are probably looking to use it as a platform for some sort of marketing or promotion.

 

I had a twitter account a few years back with 12k followers. It was associated with a website that I sold, so I don't have the account anymore.
Anyways, I got to that level by systematically following others every day that were in the same niche or could make use of my site. I found most people will follow you if you follow them. I was adding 100's of accounts to follow a week and most of them in turn would follow my account.

It's not a quick way to get followers, but if you have the time to do it and want real followers, it's as simple as that.

 

Follow lots of people, tweet to them and complement them in whatever it is they do. Retweet lots and tweet lots of things yourself that are interesting and of value. People follow people who offer valuable tweets and often. If you barely tweet, why would someone want to follow you?
