help me build strong backlinks

    I have been setting up blogs for several years now and have been writing but I am wanting to start working with SEO a lot more. I am tired of paying people and forking over money.

    What I currently know is how to put links into your sig with a keyword and submit links to link directory sites.

    Does anybody have any truthful information on how to build strong links and to rank higher for a certain keyword??

    1 .one of them is link exchange to revelant sites

    Another question. If I have several domains under my one hosting account and I have domains that have PR and I am using Wordpress, can I place links from each blog and put on the PR2 blog? Will that hurt my rankings since it is under my same IP? Or will it help because the site has page rank of 2?

    There is no benefit of placing multiple links on same ip.
    You should use different hosting accounts if you want to link your sites, a better option will be guest posting, it takes a bit of time but results would be long lasting and penguin proof.One more thing try to use branded keywords instead of commercial keywords and use surrounding text smartly to create the relevance.

    what do you mean by branded keywords? What if I have a site called Pet Merch? Can you tell me examples of keywords I should be targeting.

    Is its petmerch.com then branded keywords will be "petmerch" pet merch" "petmerch.com"
    etc.You can also mix it up with "petmerch + your keyword", what are your keywords by the way?
