Hi. I am completely new to S.E.O. I am full of ideas for websites and am always creating websites and then I anger myself when I don't get the traffic I want and the reason for this is that I do not know how to get my site to the top of the search engines and get people to actually know that my site exists.

My old sites : www.booketravel.com (a travel booking site) and www.dahitz.com (online radio website) .... both of the sites I am not really managing right now because I am trying to work on just one site and this one will be the one that will get the most hits and I want to do the most work on.

I have completed a new website and it was launched December 02, 2006. It is a ringtones website and I really want people to know about it and am interested in this : How can I optimize my site and how can I get it seen by people.

    My website is : www.mobilevfr.com

Please give my ANY advice on how to make my site better and how to make it seen.

    Thank You

Try submitting it to directories or using AdWords.

You have just entered a very competitive market. I am assuming you don't have a lot of money to spend if you did you should be doing PPC to start. Getting a first page ranking for any of the terms you selected in your Title are going to take you a long time.

if you still want to stay in the market here is some things you need to do.
    • Segment your SEO and make your site a niche site
    • Use Google Analytics to track visitors
    • Use PPC only with money you can afford to lose
    • Make sure you have several ways to capture visitor info so that you can email them
    • Set up several autoresponders to do your follow up and announcements

I hope this doesn't come off sounding really harsh, but if you are new to this game you just walked in to a lion's den. You should learn quickly or get out.

A good place to start is with SEO is Aaron Wall's SEO Book. Google it ;)

    Have fun

I was thinking of doing some HTML emails to send to people so that they come to the site, but know that not all of them can get the html emails because not all email programs support this.

What other methods of promotion can I use for my site that will be very effective ?

You could try submitting it to social bookmarking sites if you have some unique, interesting content.

I agree with TampaSEO you are in an competitive niche...take heed to his/her advice as well:

    * Focus on content for your site
    * Keep your site code clean and use good internal linking schemes
    * Take your time to build your site and make the growth seem natural and steady (don't purchase too many links at once)
    * Look for relevance
    * Read Purchasing Text Links Without Wasting Time or Money
    * Continue to seek answers and advice from skilled SEO's on Digital Point and others

It takes time to build traffic, so do not get discourage if you don't see traffic overnight. It can sometimes take months (or even years) before your site builds an steady stream of traffic or income. Basically, don't quit your day job...just dream of quitting! :)

    Good luck!

The best thing is to read the threads on DP itself.

Many people have made mistakes and many people have acheived the rankings.

Reading it will give you some input on your thoughts before blindly executing them.

Create an article that is related to your site and submit it to article directories.
