You don't have a home template page, so it falls back to index.php which by default list your latest post like the blog page
Create a template page and set it as your front page, put on it what you want to appear on homepage.

Make sure you have created a page with the name "Home" (or other which you want use as home page) from Pages section and then go to the front page setting section and find the Home page again. Make the Home page as front page and Blog as post page. I hole it will work.

Don't hesitate to ask if you have any confusion.

Or under appearance go to menu and make a category a page so when you do a post you just chose that category only and it will only post to that page. I use it a lot for my podcast page, but I am sure their are many other ways and depends what theme you have, I use the Professional.

Create a new PAGE first. Then go to Settings/Reading. Select "A static page". Click the "Front page" dropdown menu and select that as the homepage. The posts will then NOT be posted on the homepage.

You could also make a post a "stickie" to keep that post at the top of the page. Then go to Settings/Reading and set "Blog pages show at most" to one. Problem with that though is your category pages will show one post per page as well.

    On your WP-Dashboard Menu

    Got to Page

Then click on Add New Page

Name the Page - Home or Home Page

    Publish the New Page

Then finally go back to the Reading Section under settings

And find the Home Page for the Static Front Page

    Simple solution!

    Much success! ..
