Do keywords in title need to be exact? aka Keyword is, Best Water Bottles…Would the title do best being called “Best Water Bottles”? or can I call it, “The troubles and tribulations of finding the Best Water Bottles” and still rank just as efficently for that keyword?
Second one is better, but if you can move keyword at starting position of the title, it would be better. Something like - "Are Best Water Bottles hard to find ?" or "Best Water Bottles - Where to find it". Your title is good, so if you want to use the same, just try to move keyword to starting position or at least at Middle.
The standard format of the title tag is: Primary keyword - Secondary Keyword | Brand name - most people say it's better to place your brand name at the end of the title tag (unless you're Amazon or Ebay, and your brand name is more important than the products you sell). When you come up with it, you should consider some simple, yet important rules: - Make it really relevant for the content of your webpage - the title should summarize the essential topic of the whole webpage - Use no more than 70 characters (for Google and Bing) and 65 (for Yahoo) - add more and the search engines will truncate it (will not show it) - Keep it unique - search engines don't like duplicate content on webpages, so using similar titles on your webpages is not such a good idea - Avoid keyword stuffing - it's not user nor search engine friendly Hope this helps!
Hi I agree with lulia, that keyword should be placed as per the search volume or importance for that page. Keywords for which you want to rank on top should be placed on first position.
You must use your keyword in title and heading, this is only the way to recognize what is the page about.
