How many posts per page on your blog ?

I'm not sure I'm in the right section but I'm wondering if the number of posts per page you display on a blog is important.

Is If better to only have only one post per page if you're writing on different topics or many posts if only one topic ? Or no importance at all.

I thought I may have less pages if I let many posts per page, but it may be better for search engines to have more pages, thus one post per page.

I have 8 posts per page but I only show the first paragraph on the main page (using the <!-- more --> tag) and the reader has to click to read the entire post. For me it works well my internal pages seem to rank pretty good.

I think it's specific to WordPress, you just insert the tag in your post and depending on your template the main page and category pages will show the post up to the link and then display the link "Read the rest on this entry" links to the entire post. You can see it in action on my blog at www.coolest-gadgets.com

Well, i am not a well settled webmaster, but what i think, the pages on the front page, depends upon the content of the blog. In the starting, we should display 5 post but as soon as you cross 50-70 pages you must switch to 10 post on the front page. This will help you in the indexing of rest of the pages and hence good traffic.

Did you know your blogs sidebar is rendering below your main content? Just thought you may want to know.

the number of post per the blog's home page is also important in terms of duplicate content. if you don't use <more> tag then the more posts are on the frontpage, the bigger portion of your content is rendered duplicate (you have the same text in your posts pages)
