Definitely Wordpress. Beside being user friendly for visual creation, it is also user friendly in term that you can switch between preview and code views, so you can get use to HTML and learn the very basics gradually, step by step. When you get into the matter, it gets easier.

Ofc, you can stick to visual if you want to, but if you don't want your site to look like millions of others + if you are creative and know exactly what you want to achieve, you definitely need to get into coding - gives you tools and freedom.

To get a professional looking website up and running quickly and easily I think Wordpress is definitely the way to go. You can buy very cheap hosting and have Wordpress installed within just a few minutes.

There are tons of themes available to customize your site and to get the look and feel that you want.

There are dozens of forums and tutorials available to learn how to everything from the very basics to the most advanced topics related to the platform. Start with Wordpress.org or do a search on "Wordpress forums" or "Wordpress tutorials"

You will eventually want to learn some basic html coding skills. A good place to start is w3schools.com or else do a search on "html tutorials".

There is no shortcut, you need to learn HTML and CSS or you will never really understand what's happening when you build a site. You will probably find once you start learning though you won't want to use Dreamweaver etc unless you're mass producing. If you're just looking to get a site up and running to start with you should buy one for a small fee from somewhere like the Themeforest. They have themes for most things now.

The easies way we found for our clients to easily setup their sites is to provide web hosting accounts with CPanel and Fantastico / Softaculous.
That allows installing automatically various scripts including CMS like WordPress that include WYSIWYG editor and easy web interface to setup site, add plugins to extend functionality.
