Here's my entry for Crossfit Immortals:

Like my previous entry, this is 100% handrawn in Adobe Illustrator. I give all designers the right and chance to prove this concept's credibility, so that it can also help the CH of this contest.

    Kind regards,
    DrD

Your concept is a result of some live traced images, if they are going to belive that you created every single path on that design by your own, I won't.Just as the first design, I bet even the man is created by live tracing an image so you just claim you created something you don't, and we both know it, even if they don't.
An illustrator with years of experience will easily recognise a design created using live trace.
So, even if you win this contest, don't be proud, that's not your work.:)

And btw, I don't want to hear what you have to say about this or about me, as I said, we both know you used live trace.

    Good luck everyone!
    Honestly, an old digitalpoint designer.

Yes I used live trace. But does that mean that the image wasn't drawn by me? Or does it mean that I stole someone's idea/logo in anyway? I don't really understand what you're trying to prove here. I used live trace because - like I said before, if only you've been reading the previous posts - my graphics tablet died on me, and the pen I used is just pencil, so what can you expect from that if I don't use live trace? Mind you, if you're professional as what you're claiming, you'll know that hundreds of designers uses live trace because one: They don't have graphics tablet like I me, second: They want their art to be more realistic. You sound like using such a technique is illegal, it's almost funny.

To Razi3l and others: Please keep up the good work of proving my designs' credibility. I know you're doing this because you're still doubting my designs and I understand it completely. I wished for it matter-of-factly for the sake of the CH. BUT please, before you accuse me of something, show your proof first because I also do my best here, not just you guys. And to be accused because of such trivial matters without really proving anything, is, in its own way, kind of insulting.

    Kind regards,
    DrD

Yes, I'm sure the image wasn't drawn by you, that's a live traced image you don't own
What am I trying to prove? That you are selling something is not yours. No tablet? use paper and pencil, be creative, even if you don't win the contest, at least you are original
And now really, let's not start this conversation: http://www.istockphoto.com/stock-illustration-20473036-corinthian-helmet.php?st=14e5038

Keep the dignity you still have.

And sorry CH for posting these here.(I'll pay the occupied space with a design, please wait for it).
    Thanks!

So this is your proof? [IMG]
You know man, I'm tired of repeating the same thing over again. I'm not going to allow to to keep on accusing me just because of every little similarity you found on the internet. Thanks for the try, but sorry to disappoint you.

So what if they look the same? That's how a spartan helmet is supposed to look. He took the shape and line work from it, that's called reference. I'm sure you guys are familiar with references? It's kind of how you learn where things go? Right. He still altered it and changed the lighting and made it his own. Nothing to complain about here. Focus on your own work and let it speak for you.

I had no idea what reference was. So, you take an existing logo & trace the exact form, add some stroke ( make it yours) and Voila! And if you really feel inspired, you take 2 existing logos put them together and make something original. Also, it's a known fact that the Spartan Helmets were actually produced in a limited edition by a well-known company (at that time) so it's quite clear they all looked the same( I had to Google it).

What do you mean by "two existing logos"? You're running in circles here mate. Flare97 is right, it's just a reference, not a replica. Haven't you tried using one before? Oh let me guess, you're so original you have your own historical lining of Spartan helmets. So, the one who made that helmet (and any other spartan helmet on the net at that) where do you think they got their ideas from? That's right from real-life pictures of real-life spartans. That's what reference is. So now you accuse all those illustrators of thievery as well? So if someone uses their work as reference, it's the time when it's not allowed?

The helmets are not the same. Period. Even a preschooler can tell that they're not the same. Why don't we proceed with the real contest? I'm looking forward to your illustrations.

Never heard of that. I didn't use any references, I just kinda did it and tried things.
