Contest Simple and Clean Blog design (48hrs & Uncoded)

I am looking for a simple and clean landing page(Uncoded) for professor and entrepreneur
Logan Woolley. The contest is for 48 hours or until a clear winner is decided on, the winner will receive $60 via paypal.
Logan Woolley is a non-profit blog that helps inform his students on their assignments and also keeps people up to date on the topics he is interested in.

The logo is here but not in psd format, we are waiting for the artist to send it to us and we will add it to the thread later.

Hey there This is my submission.

I tried my best to take some things from the site you linked and build the homepage with inspiration from there. It was hard to know what exactely you want but I hope the modules I have designed work well with the content that will be posted on the site.

I have added just one main post to save space but there can be several main posts on the site if needed. The same goes for featured posts (left side)

Please note that all articles and images are just placeholders so you can visualize what it would look like with content. The type of content and modules are of course variable depending on your need.
I hope my design fits your taste! Feedback would be great.

Hey, I made some minor adjustments to give it a cleaner feel. The top bar is kept extremely simple and modern. The rest of the site is structured as simple as possible for ease of reading and finding things.
Feedback would be great. I hope this is the sort of design you are looking for!

 

This is looking very similar to what he is looking for. One thing he did ask for is to have a short description of what the blog is and also include a picture of himself in the header.

 

Not a problem, got an idea for this already. If you could provide me with the desired descriptive text and a sample image I would be more then happy to edit this into my design.

 

You can just mock it up with a place holder loren ipsun also just grab any stock photo of a dude in a suit and it will be fine for this.
