Hi there ! I have a website which got impacted since Penguin 2.1... i had no manual penalty in webmaster tools, no message from google either, but... i dropped from 1-2 google pages to the depths of google lol... So after 1-2 weeks where my morale was down... even if i have a work in real life, it's always sad to see weeks of work falling from the ravine. Ii was wondering... as my website is only 6 months old, yes it's really a new website, would it be better to just change of domain name ? that would mean that i would lose all my link building but i don't care. I was new to SEO, so i mainly paid a service "Link Emp...r" to build links and in the end it did me more bad than good. But i won't make the same mistake 2 times So what do you guys think about restarting from scratch with a new domain name ? considering it's a 6 month old website with not so much connections for the moment, is it a good thing to do ? or on the contrary would it be another mistake ? because i thought about the disavow tool from google, but frankly... with the service i paid, there were more than 30k+ links built to some crappy websites, and i don't feel like removing manually 30k links... thanks for your insights guys !
I am surprised on how 6 months old website managed to get ranked in top 1-2 pages. lol But now that you know there over 30k spammy links, I would suggest you to go with a new domain name and start afresh, but this time make sure you don't build spammy links for your website Best luck!
Well you know since Penguin 2.1, i have seen a lot of websites in my niche ranking #1 from one day to another, that i had never seen before even on 2nd or 3rd page... maybe that's part of the "High Quality Content not duplicated" that google wants to show now ? true these websites (sometimes not even websites but just pages from wikispaces... sbwire...) were unique (some words changed there and there... like if "The best Spinner" had been used lol). Yeah... if i do restart from scratch... i'll focus on unique things... i have learn my lesson the hard way
I'd start over if the site is that new, doesn't have much traffic, and doesn't have much (if any) organic links.
