Market your product in such a way that it directly hits the emotions of your customers. Like use religion for marketing is kind of emotional marketing.
Exactly - or using fear which is what insurance companies do, the fear that if you aren't covered you'll lose everything.
Emotional marketing is a sales and branding technique which target emotions. Love, pride, guilt, fear, greed and etc. sell like nothing else. When someone is an emotional state, he/she is buying. For example, let's look at some famous brands like Adidas, Nike and etc. which probably you have bought. Do you buy them because of their characteristics and the information you have for them or because your favorite soccer, baseball, tennis player is wearing them(promoting them)? Related to this topic are the social groups as well which have direct and indirect influence on the customer. In the previous example can be added conformism which also have influence on the customer's behavior.
A logical approach to marketing focuses on reasons and results about why a person should buy a product. Emotional marketing focuses on creating desires and wants to the point that a person actually believes they, "need" a product to, "save a marriage/restore their health/be educated/be as good as.../make friends/solve a problem etc etc
