Does the search engine read the content in PPT?

Hi,
I have a doubt regarding PPT format. If i submit a document (PPT Format) in slideshare will the search engines read the keywords present inside the PPT.
Or it consider it is an image

 

According to me PPT file formats are crawled by Google. I just searched on Google for your query and it highlighted all the related keywords for the PPT file, here is the screenshot




But now I am not sure whether Google crawls the actual content in the slides or the content in OUTLINE tab. You have asked an interesting question not like just another spammer. I will have to dig into this for a while though.

 

Yes without any doubt Google bot not just read the ppt format but it rank well into the search engine too. For example when you search about a company into Google search most of time you seen the company profile into the slideshare & in the slidshare we create a company profile into ppt format that means Google bot consider the ppt format well

 

@brudawson, Agree that Google crawls the PPT formats. My question is whether can crawl the content in PPT itself if i don't add any content to outline tab?

No, Google bot does not read ppt formats.
