When buying articles do you forgo quality over price?

We all have reasons for buying contents, be it for SEO purposes, personal use or just because we found the article interesting and has future use on our business.

The question though is if you prefer buying low-priced contents over high-priced one?

Personally I'm all for the quality but circumstances happen that people have no choice but to look at the price tag first before checking the quality of the output and the reputation of the author.

There is a trick many clients use - when they want quality, but the budget is tight, they hire talented newcomers. The down side is you have to spend more time looking for the one because the reputation is just not there, yet. Some employers have an eye for potential. I loved the interview of Arianna Huffington and Roy Serkoff. Huffpost can employ a gifted person with no experience. The employer, in this case, gets an eager learner in need of reputation who is willing to work at rates lower than those of the competitors'. The writer accumulates experience and credentials.

I personally prefer quality over quantity. No matter your reason for the articles, SEO purposes or otherwise, poorly written articles detract from the value of your site. If I'm on a tight budget, I normally check out people on freelancing sites. They will normally have cheaper prices than dedicated article writing/copywriting services without sacrificing quality.

Seo is for search engines, I mean for Google. Google doesn't know how much we pay for an article, but google definetelly knows if the article has quality. That mean If we purchase articles for google, then they have to be how google likes them, that means not the price but the quality is important.

So you invest the time and effort to build a site.

You work to get Google to find your site and send people to it.

A real person visits your site and finds a bunch of poorly written gibberish.

How many sentences will they read before they hit the back button? For me, it's usually about 2. I might read a little further if I suspect it is a personal site by someone for whom English is a second language. But, even with that in mind, my threshold for garbage is quite low.

Ask yourself why you built the site in the first place? Was it was to sell a product or service or get Adsense clicks or referrals? How much income will the site generate if no one sticks around long enough to buy or click through?

So instead of saving money with cheaper content that you know is poorly written, you've thrown away whatever money you spent on the article(s) and lost whatever revenue may have been generated from your site's visitors.

SEO is all well and good but at the end of the day, Google doesn't buy anything from you, people do.

If you look at the trend, Google has continued to push for higher quality with each update. They punish poor quality, and wipe out entire websites overnight. Since you can basically predict the future, high quality should win if you're doing SEO. Buying bulk cheap articles is dangerous. Buying quality is a no-brainer because it is a safe and wise business decision.

If you buy cheap articles, you're getting what you paid for. It would probably be a hundredth rehash of something the writer already did for someone else. I mean, who in his or her right mind would be willing to sit down and squeeze brain juice for at least 500 words over a measly $5? A newbie perhaps, or someone who has no idea of his/her worth if he/she is a truly talented writer. But good luck finding a diamond in the rough. You're better off investing in a quality writer who knows what people will read and how copy can lead to conversion.

Squeeze brain juice: I love it. You painted a picture in only 3 words. I'm keeping this one for my swipe file. ;)

It's far better to have one high quality article written over 20 barely understandable articles written. From a writer's perspective, it's far easier to craft something that readers are going to love when you're being paid adequately to do it. It's not because writers are greedy by any means, but we can't honestly sit there for $5-7 and spend 1 hour doing research, writing, proof-reading and editing.

It's true, there are Native English writers out there who don't know what they're worth more than pennies and will write for cheap. However, it's not as easy to find Western writers as it used to be and a lot of those writers are having trouble finding work.

A lot of them give up completely and pursue a real job or other ventures.

Here's what I try to tell clients and a lot of them really don't care, it just goes in one ear and out the other. This goes to all clients really, but stop focusing so much on Google and focus on your readers. I assure you, that you can throw all the H1, H2, H3 and Keyword LSI tags around you want, if a reader can barely understand it, Google isn't going to like you very much.

Was there a day and age where writing such mumble jumble could get you placed high on the search rankings? There sure was, and I don't know if people just refuse to let go of this time or if they really think these methods still work.

When I set low prices, some of the requests I get from clients are just ridiculous and some of them make absolutely no sense SEO wise. However, they really think they work and they won't have it any other way.

Look, a lot of people are going through tough times right now but when it comes to making sacrifices, NEVER sacrifice your quality. If you absolutely can't afford to hire someone to write a quality article, then it's probably better off that you tackle the article yourself. I promise, it'll bring much better results than this guy:

"Hello sir, I has you perfect contents grammar error is free"

Also, you have to watch out for some Western writers who claim to write for $3.50 per 500 words. Some of them are legit, but some of them do what's called scumbag middleman. Basically, they're putting advertisements out on other networks pretending to be hiring article writers. They'll accept jobs from other writers for that $3.50 per 500 word price, then they'll turn around and have people write the articles for them. The kicker is, they never intend on paying the people they hire and they vanish without a trace.

I'm not saying everyone who offers a cheap service does that, but it does happen and it's something you have to watch out for.

I'm starting to see some nasty side effects over at sites like iWriter and Textbroker because they're almost empty. There are literally no jobs on the #1 and #2 content mill sites that I know of anymore and a lot of writers seem to be packing up and leaving for another venture or a regular job.

It's sad man, it really is. Writing is fun and it's rewarding but to answer your question about quality versus quantity, quality is always going to win hands down. It's kind of like pinning a Special Forces soldier versus 10 regular soldiers.

    Little of both.
As a webmaster I build sites on my free time most sites are 5-10 pages or bigger at $5 a page that's $50-$100 for content on a site that might never make any money. I play with traffic SEO maybe sell a few links, its not something I can spend $50 a page for or $250-$500 for 5-10 pages.
If I put the average 5-10 page website for sale on auction it would probably get about $100. Why would I spend $500(just in content) on a $100 site ?
Maybe a site hits google sweet spot so I have someone clean up the content so it reads stellar. But until then it is just content on the internet.

I have personal sites that I use to get clients and I hire local writers, people are reading these sites and deciding if they are going to hire me. I am not going to mess around with getting content from some guy on the internet that might know how to write,, kind of ?.

True story- I have had lots of $5 pages get great views, bounce rates, natural backlinks and have had great written $50 pages get horrible bounce rates. You never know. Writing is just a part of a web site, many other factors are at play.

If i have to pay more for Assured Quality content, then i will be more happy to pay for it.
Because At the end it will fetch the handsome amount, which will be much more higher as compared to what i have paid.
