One of the biggest trends in the web design industry is the flat design style, Now i think it will be next big thing in designing.

Flat design refers to a philosophy that encourages simplicity, clarity and usability. In practice, that means stripping away nifty 3D textures or drop shadows while keeping the bare essentials. As I Designer i have stared designing the flat designs for my clients.

Do you agree flat design is future?

As a designer, I agree that people enjoy the cleanliness, clarity and simplicity of flat design nowadays. One good thing about flat design is eye-catchy and alluring because of its bright and striking colors. Perhaps, it is more attractive to have a flat design rather than complicated one.

I can't say it is the future or not. Flat design has been highly inspired by Windows 8 Modern UI. Flat designs are trending currently, do not know about tomorrow. Some new idea may arise.

As much as I like the flat design aesthetic, we have to realize that it's just a fad that will eventually pass. Things change fast in the world of design - nothing ever stays the same for very long.

I will say, however, that of all the visual design trends of the last 10-15 years, I am digging this flat stuff the most. Simple. Clean. Elegant.

It's funny to listen to non-designers complain about it though! "Boring" is a word I hear quite often.

From a UX standpoint I really don't think flat design is a good thing. I find it hard navigate around or use an application. Of coarse there's some exceptions to this. I really like the hybrid designs (I think they call it semi-flat).
