As per the Matt Cutts latest post both type of links were good. For natural backlinks there should be 60:40 ration of no follow and do follow links to your website. Hope it helps. Naveen
Shouldn't one be used in certain situations and the other in other situations? For example say if I have a twitter or facebook account, and I make posts which have a link to my homepage. Are you saying I should randomly make half of them nofollow?
To make the link building looks more natural, both kind of links are important. Some are good for PR and other for direct traffic.
link please i never heard about this kind of ratio. As per my knowledge link should be natural and manual.
BOTH of them are important. About 50%-50% is perfect, but for max results you can do this until 60% Do-Follow - 40% No-Follow! Just do NOT spam to get those backlinks (like nofollow backlinks from blog comments!)
It would be good if you don't know difference between dofollow and nofollow... You also don't have to use certain percentage like 50 percent dofollow or 50 nofollow, Google knows only as it has system which tells what percentage is for natural links....
My point of view doesn't matter. Though Google won't count the nofollow link, but it will make your link profiles look natural.
Most of these answers are wrong. You could have 10,000 do follow links so long as they are in the manner Google accepts. Virtually everyone will have a mixture of both and it will usually be numerous dofollows coming from individual sites with a handful of follows. This is because too many follows isn't natural (you don't just throw around PR and credit to other sites unless something strange is going on.)
We should concentrate on both dofollow and nofollow links. Both are needed for Good SEO process in a balanced manner.
