    Hey guys!

I'm going to share a cool little tip I have learned long time ago while I was learning everything I could learn about SEO (search engine optimization).....

This is what I follow and do every time I want to pick good keywords to rank up for....

    1. Do a keyword research using the Free Google Keyword Tool and search for [Exact] keywords only.

    2. Pick a keyword with a good amount of monthly traffic and with low competition.

    3. Go to Google.com - sign out of your Google account if you are logged in - Search for your Keyword between these " ". Example: "yourkeyword" - Try picking a keyword with under 1,000,000 exact search results.

    4. Next, search the following in Google.com as well:
      • allinurl:"yourkeyword"
      • allinanchor:"yourkeyword"
      • allintitle:"yourkeyword"
By doing this you will be able to see how much competition the keyword has. The more search results usually means more competition of course. Try to find keywords with low search results in each one of these search queries.
I also look at the pages that are ranking up for the keyword - it gives me an idea on how to write a better piece of content for that keyword.

You can also use tools to check exactly how many backlinks you will need to rank up on the first page.

Try using this simple technique to find long-tail keywords and go for it!

Let me know how it goes!

Share this information with others if it helped you a lot!

I also have a quick video on this information if you would like to learn more - just lookout for my Youtube Channel! lol

Hi Snoopy - I use the Google advanced search operators in my method, too. I describe it in detail on my blog. However, in my method I ignore the Google Keyword Tool (now Keyword Planner) competition figure at all - I think it's irrelevant mainly because it's aimed at Adwords advertisers. And I decide which KW to chase not by liking for low competition numbers but by actually comparing the allintitle and allinurl pages and counting the overlapping results. I look for 4 or less.

But I like your thinking :)

    Great process Snoopy240!

I like the part about seeing what your competition is ranking for while performing your actions.

So between Step 3 and 4, find out WHO your competition is for the keyword(s) you have chosen. Which sites are in the top 3 or 4 positions for that keyword.

Then, when performing Step 4, you can see if these same sites are ranking high for allintitle, allinachor, allinurl as well as seeing the quantity of competition. If those sites are not ranking for these "qualifier" searches, then you know you got a fairly easy road to follow!

Very good advice, this is almost exactly what I do. The low competition ones are definitely the ones you wanna go for. Much easier to get good rankings.
