PHP online chat is a software tool used for the live interaction between two people - like client and the support team. It is a simple and customized free live customer support software specially designed for php based websites. Queries and complaints of your customers can be handled and sorted immediately through this flexible chat script which has a number of attractive features.

Yes, no doubt that Skype is one of the good tool even Live messenger will do as well. For business live chat, it is not the software problem but is the one who handle live chat is well with experience or not :)

I run my own FMS and Red5 servers for development purposes and provide video and text chat to several clients. Most of them use the licensed version of VideoWhisper (one of it's iterations) and the live stream I provide.

For CUSTOM video or text chat/conferencing and for website integration NOTHING beats your own stream and application. You own it and can tweak the look, feel and video/text delivery.

    Hi,

For web-based live chat support with 2-way audio chat, you can go with:

    1. Velaro : $52.95
    2. LivePerson : $99.99
    3. Kayako : $29.00

And if you want a free desktop based solution then :-

    1. Skype
    2. google Talk
    3. Yahoo! messenger
And there are many others but these are the top 3 on my list for business purposes.

We recommend web based solutions so business partners and contacts can easily access video conferencing just by visiting a link, without the hassle of installing additional software.
Installing Skype or other desktop software may not be possible in certain organizations or offices where computer and network usage is restricted due to security concerns.

There are multiple web based video conferencing solutions depending on the interactivity logic required.

You can't really go wrong with Skype in my opinion.
I've found that most of the "for business" chat applications are just bloated with features that you will never use.
