Mobile SSL Needed?

Discussion in 'Security' started by phaze3131, Sep 2, 2013.

I'm new to SSL's and how they work.

Does anyone know if and why I would need a mobile SSL.

20% of my traffic is from mobile users about.

The mobile users won't be able to see my site if I purchase an SSL with no mobile functionality?

    thanks for the help!

Chances are you don't need one. Most common standard SSL certs. are compatible with mobile phones.

I know RapidSSL had some issues in the past with mobile phones, but I'm pretty sure they're recognized now, especially since most phones use normal browsers now.

I see that is HostGator's page. They should be able to provide you with a 1 month trial SSL certificate for RapidSSL so you can do some testing. If not, you can look around the net and find a trial. I can do SSL trials too if they won't do it for you.

SSL Certificate will help your users by giving them secured environment on your website even they are accessing from their cellphones.

    I suggest you two products:
    • 1st is SSL123 from Thawte
    • 2nd is QuickSSL Premium from GeoTrust
Thawte SSL123 certificate will secure your website on mobile devices. And If you want to secure your website's mobile application than you should choose GeoTrust QuickSSL premium. You may contact us at ClickSSL.com in any query.
