Rules Bump/Edit/Relist - Change the Title?

Discussion in 'Support & Feedback' started by WSWD, Aug 30, 2013.

    Hi guys,

Is it possible to change the title of a thread that you bump/edit/relist? I am able to edit the post, and bump it, but I can't change the title.

    Help please! :)

Yep, from the "Thread Tools" menu if you are within the edit timeframe of the first post.

    Thanks DP!

How embarrassing! I didn't think to do it from the Thread Tools. I run a couple XenForo forums too. Doh!

    Works great now.

What is the edit timeframe for BST posts? Also, what are the rules on bumping? I didn't find any specific rules for BST.

    Thanks!

Has nothing to do with B/S/T... posts can be edited for 6 hours. The Bumping option will show at the bottom of the first post. Bumps are allowed once every 30 days (or once every 7 for premium members).

Thank you for such a swift reply. I assume replying to the thread does not bump it?

So if editing is locked after 6 hours, is there no way to change the post in the future if I make changes to my service, except to reply to my own thread with the changes?

    Thanks again!

Correct, replying does not "bump" it. Threads are sorted by creation time, not last reply time.

If you want to make changes to your service, you would use the Bump option, as that reopens editing for another 6 hours.

Hey, thanks for this thread. Just tried to edit thread name with bumping, I opened bump pop-up, applied it, post bumped. Where can I see a chance to edit first post and thread name now? Thanks a lot!
