I think the truth about 'free traffic' is that it doesn't come free at all. It may not cost *money* but there is still a price to be paid. It's usually in the effort to product quality content, such as regular videos on YouTube, great article blog posts, impressive graphics, etc.

So, we use the term 'free traffic' but there is always a price. Time is a commodity we are forced to spend every day, and sometimes you're better off learning to control paid traffic than spending too much time/effort and sometimes money or other resources trying to go 'free'. :)

But 'free' traffic can, of course, be the most profitable since there is no actual money required to get it.

I totally agree. However, what I've found is that a large majority of the people who get involved in this industry are on a shoestring budget and are forced to learn the free traffic methods in order to get a foundation for IM in general. But just like you said, if you have money to do paid it's the best way to go because you won't be glued to your computer all day long.

This is very true. You will pay in time at least. But it very often is better than paying with money for it..

Yeh true. But to these people, their mindset is always i rather spend time than money. Because they are afraid to lose their hard earned cash.
Nothing wrong with not being very ambitious and more cautious about Internet Marketing. It is normal, because most people are afraid to fail, and they take lots of precautions to ensure that they not fail, but fail to see that they themselves are hindering their own success. Ironic isn't it?

The challenge for a lot of people is not so much the traffic but more the fact they haven't got a decent funnel in place. why even talk about traffic if you haven't got a decent funnel?

That implies having a landing page, squeeze page, either your own product or an affiliate product, and thought-through method for selling whatever it is you are selling. Just putting up a site about the topic and then linking to a few affiliate products is not going to get you anywhere. So whether your traffic is free or paid it's all a bit of a waste of time.

You need to have a complete method laid out whereby you capture your traffic onto a list – more than likely – and then have a follow-up sequence in place once they are on the list. Then your site needs to talk about your product, whatever it is, in convincing terms and sell it.

And your email sequence need to do the same on a trickle basis.

Newbies should concentrate more on getting some sort of funnel in place – and then worry about the traffic. :)

    Hey Man,

Thanks for sharing this resource. I must say I am constantly looking for ways to get free traffic as free traffic really gives you a solid buffer compare to paid traffic even though paid traffic gives result quickly. I still recall the days where I first started out, got hock onto the idea of making money online and poured quite a bit in adwords to drive traffic to affiliate sites. Make a bit of money which was very quickly given back to google as they change the adwords algorithm. Right now I am much smarter in using paid traffic though nothing beats the comfort of knowing that you are getting traffic without having variable expenses.

    This helped!

Hello, Nice thread. Start building a following on Facebook of people that are like minded and would buy your offer or read your website. This will make sure that your getting the right kind of eyes going to your site from Facebook. Also make sure you use your key words in your post. This is very important as Facebook is becoming a Search engine and its also indexed by Google. But I have a question to you that is,
Is Free Traffic in Massive Numbers a Myth?

    Have a nice day ! :)

Thanks for the tips for generating traffic!

In web marketing, traffic is very important like customers to a shop..... and there is too much competition already so you need to give time, you need to use your unique ideas, you need to use your main skills to fight with your competitors and get traffic as well.

Definitely driving a traffic to your blog/website is not easy and your points are promising & legit but...
The above statement is also true....

Time is priceless you can't get it back in any cost.

    Hi guys!
I agree with Robert Ralph, first you need to have your funnel set up in a proper way and than focus on traffic (either free or paid).
My personal experience with free traffic is that it is usually much worse quality comparing to paid traffic (I mainly use Solo Ads). Free means you'll not invest any money but you'll have to invest time... and as they say - Time is Money!
    Good Luck to All!

There's no question that there are a ton of viable methods of free traffic.

My secret is making the best use of the content I make.

Every time I write a blog?

I submit it to social bookmarking.

I share it on Twitter, Facebook, Stumbleupon.

And I email it to my list.

Make your content stretch like stretch armstrong
